   INFORMATION SYSTEMS OPTION

COURSE DESCRIPTION:     The use of Projects and Project Management is growing and will continue to grow in the business world.   We are able to achieve goals through a Project Methodology that could be achieved only with the greatest of difficulty if organized in traditional ways.

This managerial perspective follows the steps of the Systems Development Methodology (SDM), describing how MIS projects are selected for implementation by the Sponsor or User Group.   First cut, analysis and design covers the role of the Project Manager as they budget, design, and schedule Systems Projects.   Finally, project review concludes the discussion with a description of final project evaluation and Termination.   The human factor is ever present in Project Management and topics such as managing conflict, communications and leadership are discussed.
